Setting off from Hopa on 26 June with his engine sealed, the national sailor crossed the Black Sea, Marmara, Aegean and Mediterranean solo — on wind power alone — reaching İskenderun on 7 July. He is now the first athlete to hold the Türkiye Tour record in the solo, duo and crew categories at the same time.

With his engine sealed under the supervision of a Turkish Sailing Federation representative, he crossed the Black Sea, Marmara, Aegean and Mediterranean on wind power alone. With this achievement he became the first athlete to hold the Türkiye Tour record in the solo, duo and crew categories at the same time.

Record Details
Setting off from Hopa Port on 21 June 2025, Başak Mireli completed the Solo Türkiye Tour in İskenderun in 15 days, 6 hours and 41 minutes, breaking Tolga Ekrem Pamir's record that had stood since 2021 and becoming the first female athlete to complete this course single-handed. Over the roughly 1,850-nautical-mile route she battled a waterspout and giant waves in the Eastern Black Sea, a storm in the Aegean and heavy shipping traffic in both straits. In her words: "We are not alone at sea. Having the courage to set out and to keep going is enough."

Attempt Details
Starting from Artvin-Hopa Port on 25 October 2023, Caner Akdolun sailed around Türkiye's coasts in 21 days, 17 hours and 4 minutes, completing the 1,500-nautical-mile route between Hopa and İskenderun. Although he could not beat the standing record, he became an inspiration to the entire offshore sailing community.
